Fresh off the roll:

How it Started:

Once upon a time in middle school, I pulled my iPod on a school field trip and took a picture of the Washington Monument, and just like the gears started turning in my little mind as I had just sparked a love for Photography that only grew throughout the years. It came from a place of passion and love and a mind obsessed with learning and collecting different perspectives and memories.

One day not too long after, my sister heard me talking about my interest; she gifted me an old Sony camera that I spent the next few months teaching myself and reading about how to operate the camera manually.

The next step for me was learning photography principles and techniques before diving into Adobe products in high school, where I learned how to use Photoshop and Lightroom to digitally edit my personal photos and the photos I would take for Publications in the coming years.

My focus was on studio and general portraits, events including sports, music, and any other projects that required special attention once I became a Photo Editor in the program. My experience isn’t limited to that as I would do freelance during my summers picking various projects in different niches. My original passion for photos as memories and perspective never went away. I continued to do my own personal projects and document the special moments in my life with the highest quality product I could make through continued learning and experimentation at my years at Indiana University. However, my output has slowed as I focus on my studies in Advertising and explore creativity in a new light through strategy and planning; not a bad change of pace though. Double threat coming soon :)

P.S.

I returned to D.C. in 2019 and re-took the photo that started it all. Check it out above in “Washington D.C., November 2019”.
